MATPRA Marketplace Know Before You Go

Participation

In order to participate in the event in any capacity, you must be present for the entire annual meeting and for the entire media marketplace. If you miss either of these portions, you may be asked to leave the event early or you may be asked not to attend the following year.

Don’t forget, the purpose of the event is for you (the destination) to meet with media. If you skip portions of the event, you are missing an opportunity to connect with people who may cover your destination.

Sales

There is strictly no selling of any kind allowed at Marketplace. If a journalist is selling services, please notify a MATPRA Board member immediately.

Table and Materials

During the Marketplace session, all members will receive a standard size table for display. We ask that any table top displays be no taller than 18 inches. No large pull-up banners are allowed. All display items must be placed in the table itself. While takeaway items are welcome, no gift may exceed $5 in cost. There will be no power hook-ups available.

While you are welcome to bring printed materials for distribution, remember that media are meeting with upwards of 50 destinations throughout the event and generally do not want to lug papers, magazines, etc. around.

If you have time before the annual meeting begins, you may set up your table for Marketplace.

Dress Code

Most of the event is business casual. There is no need for a full suit, but please don’t wear your sweatpants. Depending on what your FAM tour selections are, you may want to dress more casually during the tours. There will be time in between portions of the event so that you can change.
