Welcome to Reading & Berks County, Pennsylvania’s Americana Region, your host for Media Marketplace 2025. We are excited to show you our destination, a refreshing mix of old and new, in a breathtakingly beautiful location. Come and learn about our PA Dutch culture and traditions, the iconic Pagoda atop Mt. Penn, and some fascinating people from our region. Yes, Taylor Swift was born in Berks County, but so were Daniel Boone, Keith Haring, and John Updike. Explore our art scene, museums, and historic sites, and discover our penchant for festivals. We hold some of the best around, such as the award-winning World War II Weekend, Kutztown Folk Festival, and Reading Liederkranz’s Oktoberfest.

Not to be overlooked are our many outdoor offerings, such as Hawk Mountain Sanctuary, Rodale Institute, the Great Reading Trails System, a bronze-level International Mountain Biking Ride Center, and Blue Marsh Lake, a haven for water and trail activities. Pennsylvania’s Americana Region boasts all of these things and more. Journalists must apply to attend MATPRA Media Marketplace. A select number of journalists are invited to attend based on criteria established by a committee that reviews each journalist’s audience, scope and past coverage to ensure the best fit for the marketplace.
